Make-Up Bag Essentials - Non Make-Up Items! Part 3

I know the following products aren't technically make-up, they are still cosmetic to a degree and I wouldn't go anywhere without them, so decided they could be included in the Essentials series. Plus, it's my blog, so I can do what I like!

(see Part 1 and Part 2)
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
This perfume put an end to my never-ending hunt for my HG scent. This perfume makes little old men tell me in lifts how nice I smell and it makes me smile whenever I spray it. It's a beautiful light sweet floral scent; a classic 'grown-up' sophisticated floral, without smelling like your gran. It's an all time favourite and I haven't worn any other pefume in about 4 years.

Elnett Hairspray
This is a product I have been using for so long, I can't even pinpoint when, where or why I would've selected it. It's just always been there!

You've all seen Penelope Cruz and Claudia Schiffer sporting ridiculously high 'up-dos' to show off the flexible, super hold of Elnett hairsprays, and you've probably thought, yeah yeah, it'll still make my hair sticky, stiff and helmety. This really wont. I can't speak for the other hairsprays in the Elnett range, having only ever used the flexible hold (the white can), but seriously this stuff is amazing.

I have super fine hair and I can cover my head with this stuff, brush it out and still have lovely soft, shiny hair. The hold is also brilliant. What more could you want? I usually get through at least 1 of the biggest cans each month, with a small can in my handbag for emergencies. Love it!

Blistex

Last, but not least, is my little lip saviour. Blistex (formerly known as Blisteze -when will this stop appearing on the packet??) do an amazing medicated healing lip cream. I think it's probably more geared towards those poor souls who suffer from coldsores (never had one and live in daily fear of one appearing), but it works brilliantly on dry, chapped lips, particularly on winter battered or flu-ridden lips. The little mentholy tingle is pleasant and within 2 or 3 applications, all the little sore cuts will have started to heal.

I have about half a dozen of these wee tubes kicking about in the bottom of various handbags, drawers and of course - one in my make-up kit!
Morning!
I received a bottle of 'Walton Street' Nails Inc nail polish at Christmas, but hadn't quite found the right time to wear it. But with the sunshine managing 3 days in a row, it's time to crack open the summery colours!
There was quite a good point made about NOTD posts recently (I think anyway), about only showing the finished article, without showing how many coats etc it takes to achieve the full look. I guess it would be a nightmare to do this every NOTD, especially with a very thin polish, but I thought I'd give it a go with today's post, but lo! It only took 1 coat! It covered amazingly! No streaks, no bald bits, no white nail showing through!

The colour is stunning too! Think this will be a summer favourite!

Today's FOTD

Good afternoon beauties!

I feel like I've been posting a lot recently about products, which was never the inital point of this blog. It's fun trying new stuff that's out there and I am always on the hunt for HG products but mostly my passion is for actually doing make-up, trying new looks, new colours etc.

So, as someone who usually favours black eyeliner and red lip stain, I thought I'd try something new for me today... full on natural eye colour, pale lip, rosy cheeks. Very girlie!
This was semi-inspired by Get Lippie's post on powder foundations; I love my mineral foundations, but haven't been using them recently as I've yet to found a kabuki that doesn't irritate my newly repaired skin following last year's 'acnegate'. I figured 1 day wouldn't do any harm though so here we are! (Louise if you're reading this, hopefully I don't look too fembot-ish!!)

I look very pleased with myself, but really I'm just in a good mood! The sun is shining and I'm nipping out soon to meet my girlies to discuss what I want to do on my Hen Do!

I used Bare Minerals powder foundation in 'Fairly Light' which I think is a ridiculous name as it suggests that it's not quite the lightest shde, which it actually is. I used Maybelline Mineral blush and my new FrontCover Rainbow Eyes box. Beaute WLC in 'Trace' is on the lips and the mascara is Bad Gal Lash from Benefit.

Make-Up Bag Essentials - Bobbi Brown Gel Liner

Welcome to the 2nd installment of this series; today is Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liners! I have the Black and Blue (I think it's called Cobalt). The black one I've now had for about 6 months and I am only about 1/3 of the way through the pot. The texture is so smooth and these gels literally glide on. Once they're on and dry, the don't budge. Your eyeliner will stay in place all day with no smudging.
I have a Sleek gel liner too and there is no way it compares with the Bobbi Brown ones. The BB liners are so pigmented and long-lasting I think they are so worth the money and I doubt a day goes by when I'm not wearing it in someway, whether it's some simple tightlining or a full on cat-eye like today.
Please excuse the poor pics today - was in a super rush to do them before going to work!

So today's FOTD consists of Chanel Pro-Lumiere in 10, Beaute Fever Liqui Gel Stain, Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black and Benefit Gal Lash! Nice and simple!
