There's been a buzz around beauty blogosphere about this collection for a while now and it's finally arrived!
Chanel's summery offerings include Limited Edition nail polish shades and lipglosses which, for me, absoloutely epitomise summer. Just looking at the display in John Lewis had me transported to another world where I could wear beach jewellery, sip ice cold Mojitos and where me in a white bikini wouldn't have small children crying in fright...
Unfortunately, Chanel are not miracle workers and I had to settle for taking home the last remaining bottle of Novelle Vague, the minty fresh turquiose pictured below, a shade which will go some way to helping me live my beachy, summer dream.
I'm thinking this will be perfect on my nails for my city hen do in London in June, or for my extended honeymoon taking me from the beach in Hawaii to the slick city streets of New York. As long as it's warm, this colour will be fab!
In other news (Giveaway!)...
Whilst I was at Chanel, we got talking about the blog (I had to tell her otherwise she would have though I was weird for taking pics of the display...) and she kindly gave me 5 copies of the Limited Edition collectors book celebrating the release of the Rouge Coco lipstick range t giveaway to my lovely followers! ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing about summer apart from the sun, sea & sand, long romantic walks with the bf, eating yummy ice-cream, sipping ice cold cocktails & having a few of the bessies around for a scrumptious bbq is all the fabulous summery makeup collections brands release to get us looking fabulous :)

ReplyDeleteThe things I love about summer are the long evenings, sitting in a pub garden till late chatting with friends about just about everything. laughing and putting the world to rights.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite things about summer are.. making daisy chains + headbands in the meadow wearing floaty dresses ^-^ ditching the dark, winter tights for bare legs + lovely sandals.. feeling the warmth on your face from the sun! Long, hot summer days + nights strolling around the neighbourhood enjoying the scenes of the sunlight basking everything in a beautiful glow.. for me, summer is a time to catch up with friends and visit places! Such a long time for relaxation (i'm a college kid) ^-^

I love summer because I feel sorta... "empowered" when its nice and bright, sunny and warm. I know thats kinda vague, buts a weird sensation to explain. Oh and of course, being able to go outside in the sun!

My favourite thing about summer is how bright it stays late in the evening, and how when it does eventually go dark its a gorgeous bluey darkness. Summer nights mean barbeques, chilling, still wearing your flip flops and shorts outside from the daytime and not being cold :) xx
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing about summer is those days when you wake up really early, at 6 or 7am, and the sun hasn't risen properly, and it's already hot, not warm, hot. And you know that the day will last for ages, and you can put on your favourite dress and sandals and walk everywhere, and everything smells on freshly cut grass, sun tan lotion and the perfume from the flowers.

My favourite thing about the summer, is the long hours in the day. Even when you finish work at 5.30pm it seems you have ages left to enjoy the sun. Sitting in a beer garden with friends, gossiping and laughing over a cold drink. Also, because you get to wear fabulous dresses and doll yourself up for the races. (hopefully winning some pennies) x

ReplyDeleteFave thing about summer has to be all the summer fragrances, every year I look forward to the launches at the airport duty free. The one I purchase is my fragrance for the holiday and the scent reminds me of that holiday. Last year, it was CK in2U summer, can't wait for this year's Ibiza perfume!
Oh and good choice with the Chanel varnish - tried to get this shade from Debenhams on tues but they were all sold out! x
