Illamasqua 'Throb'

Never one to shy away from a bit of controversy & innuendo, Illamsqua's 'Throb' collection (available online from next week), is packed with seduction and titillating product names. Some, such as 'Load', the creamy white nail polish are quite obvious (and ummmm, a little disgusting?!) but others such as 'Succubus', (a gorgeous red lipgloss) less so - Succubus is the female version of the better known male 'Incubus' - a demon which uses it's gorgeousness to seduce it's victim in sleep.

The product I have my eye on, is the namesake of the collection; this delicious cherry red polish in Throb. I do love me a bit of red & think this will be the perfect little birthday treat to myself!

Give Me Some Style, Sister

Today I had my perm re-done at Toni & Guy. As I didn't want to bother doing my hair this morning just for it to taken apart a mere hour later, I just stuffed it all up in a bun. Hence, my stylist (who hadn't seen me since the perming session 3 months ago) said "so what does your hair look like then?". At that exact moment, I glanced up at the television screen above the mirror, blasting out Kesha's Tik Tok on MTV and without thinking, raised my hand and said 'it looks like hers'....

This was out of my mouth before I could stop and think about what I was saying. I love love love my perm, but here I was, comparing my barnet to this mucky chick with catchy tunes! But it's true! Ok, mine might be a slightly nicer colour (I aint got no roots for a start!), but let's call a spade a spade here, I've got the same bloody hair as Kesha!

As this sunk in, I glanced down at what I was wearing. An oversized grey men's t-shirt, with a skull on the front, a fine knit cardy with gold embellishment on the shoulders, black skinny jeans tucked into knee-high biker boots. I had actually put a long black scarf on this morning, but took it off as it felt a bit 'faffy'. Sound familiar? Practically the only difference is my leather driving gloves were pink..

What's worse, is I love this style! I just didn't realise that for the last couple of years, I've been styling myself on facking Kesha!

It's my birthday on Wednesday. All my friends & I are going out for dinner on the following Saturday. If I had to draw a picture of the outfit I was planning to wear, it'd pretty much look like this... Thanks to Kesha, now I don't have to draw it! I have google images! Feck!!

I can't believe my little baby blog is 1! As per usual, thanks to you all for reading, commenting blah blah blah... Lets get to the good stuff! This isn't just a birthday, this is a Chanel birthday!

I wanted to do a special giveaway to give someone the opportunity to win a product they wouldn't necessarily be able to buy themselves and give back to you all with a little touch of luxury. On that basis, I decided not to gather half a dozen prizes & instead picked one of my top faves, from my all time favourite brand...

So, for one of you, you will be winning a Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel powder bronzer! I usually use the cream version of this, but unfortunately it was sold out! Everywhere - gone! So, I picked the powder version (the shade is the same one as the cream version).

Spring Fresh Coral Lips & Glossy Eye

You might remember this post by my guest blogger Lisa, where she listed the many many flaws of OCC Lip Tar in Grandma. Well she kindly donated the lip tar to me and challenged me to make it work (a little Tim Gunn there for good measure)

I kept the skin really fresh with FACE Atelier foundation.

A slick of vaseline on the eyelids gives a really fresh, glossy appearance. Use waterproof mascara!
